“The UQuest Happening”
September 29th at 12:30 p.m. on Shaw Street at College.

The Challenge: A Quest for Urban Angels
“What do you do when given lemons?”, says Vivienne Grace Ziner, President of
UrbanQuest Inc. , a well respected development company known for its long tradition of charitable community sponsorship. “You make lemonade!” In response to teens “hanging out” at UrbanQuest’s newest development site on Shaw Street, just north of College in Little Italy, UrbanQuest has created The U Quest Fund to support Arts & Literacy programs in Toronto.
In partnership with EcoMedia Direct Inc., the environmentally-friendly outdoor media company, in conjunction with the
Toronto Library Foundation, Schools Without Borders and The Whippersnapper Gallery, a gallery in Little Italy which works with disadvantaged youth and emerging artists,
UrbanQuest is hosting a one day “Paint-In” using over 80 feet of canvas. On Saturday, September 29th, 2007, beginning at 12:30 p.m., over 20 artists, including well known Ian Leventhal, Vivian Reiss, David Arathoon and graduates and students of OCAD, will paint while poets read their work; the community at large are invited to also participate.
After the event, the paintings will be exhibited at The Whippersnapper Gallery and sold to help create the
U Quest Fund. In addition, such illustrious patrons as: UrbanQuest Inc.,
EcoMedia Direct Inc., Sotheby’s International Realty, State Building Group, Richmond Realty Group, Clairvest, Greenco Project Management Inc., Real Facilities, John Lubelski , Danson, Zucker and Connelly, Linda Frum - and others who wish to remain anonymous - to name just a few -, have paid $500 sponsorship to become
Urban Angels®. As well as receiving tax receipts, they will be acknowledged on advertising panels of
Public Space SilverBox® recycling bins throughout the city, courtesy of
EcoMedia Direct Inc. who provide an important recycling service to Toronto.
The public is invited to participate in this event. Anyone wishing to become an Urban Angel, a volunteer, a contributor, or a Media Sponsor should contact us for further details.
